For some sparkle and warmth when you’re out shopping this Black Friday (November 26, 2010), stop in to The Picket Fence on Walnut Street in Shadyside between 11am and 4pm and meet jewelry artist and metalsmith Heather Reilly Hiemstra.

Heather is doing custom handforged bangles and cuff bracelets for holiday gift giving this year. Simple, elegant, handmade jewelry is rare enough, but when you have the opportunity to work directly with the artist and customize for the perfect gift with diamonds, birthstones, favorite gems or just sized and styled perfectly for everyday wear–

Heather was born here in Pittsburgh and moved back with her family and studio last year after studying and working as both artist blacksmith and jewelry designer in London, San Francisco, San Diego and Florence, Italy.
